Wedding Party

Mother: Marian Raftis &
Stepfather: Tim Raftis

I’m so glad to have my mother attend this event and help me plan everything out. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have her to bounce all my insane ideas off of. I’ve come to realize that this day isn’t something that only I have dreamed about.

Here is a man who took a girl who wasn’t his and helped raise her as if she were his own. He allowed me so many opportunities in my life. He taught me to respect myself, my country, and know my capabilities. Most importantly, he taught me to be a lady. He has given me more than he knows. He showed me not only how to survive, but thrive, in this crazy world. Thank you.

Father: Kenneth Midtbo &
Stepmother: Lori Midtbo

I feel like I haven’t had enough time to be his little girl! Every time we visit is gets harder to leave him. Know that this day will be especially hard.

I think my love for dogs started when Lori got her 1st dog Jo Jo. She also has played a pivotal role in my man picking. Never let anyone walk on you and never let anyone tell you No. Now, if I could only learn to compromise! She really helped me in becoming a tough cookie.

Mother: Kim McCarthy &
Father: Larry McCarthy

My mom has showed me how to be kind and honest to people. To take other people’s interest to heart and see things from someone else’s point of view. She showed me how to care for a lady. I would not be the man I am today without her. I am what you would call a "mamma’s boy". She is the best mom anyone could have and I thank her from the bottom of my heart.

He is the man in my life that I try to follow. He gives 110% to everything he does. He is caring, yet demands perfection. He may not always get it, but it’s how to be the best he can be. He has worked so hard to make us as tight of a family as he could. I hope that I become 1/10th of the father he is. He has taught me that the most important thing he could do as a father is to let me know, as his son, that he is proud of me. I couldn’t be any more grateful than I already am. You da man!

Flower Girl: Sophia Shields
The cutest flower girl ever! My first niece.

Ring bearer: Harley
Barley McFarly

Oh my little man! I love this puppy so much! Sometimes it’s hard to tell who I love more.

hehe love you Mike!

Matron of Honor and sister: Susan
I chose Susan to be my Matron of honor because I think when I was eight I promised her the spot. Moreover, I would not be where and who I am today if I hadn’t had her influence all these years. She’s my rock. She is my reasoning, my devils advocate, my best friend forever, my sister.

Best Man: Ryan Maynard
“The prodigy” (dumbest name ever) I hated him from day one. The cockiest guy I’ve ever met. I think he told me one time “Girls want to get with me and Guys want to be me,” Then I found out that he liked hard rock, and darts. We used to open up my windows in the fraternity house and blare "Korn", play darts and BBQ all the time. He eventually moved back home and I didn’t see him for almost a year. He has been the brother in my life. I’m very close with his family as well. He has been nothing but positive in my life. He has showed me that nothing is more important in life than family and friends and to enjoy every second of it. Maynard, you are a friend of all friends. I respect you brotha “We ride together; we die together, Bad boys for life”.

Best Man: William Midtbo
“The entrepreneur” Over the last 3+ years, I’ve gotten really close with Will. He has showed me that anything I want to do in life, I have the ability to do it. I learned that I actually like cigars and that I can always make more money.. My whole life, I wished that the woman I married would have a sibling that could really be a sibling to me as well. Will is a great friend and is a great brother. I thank you for everything bro. Don’t be a “wehhh whooo”

Groomsman : Scott Pine &
Bridesmaid: Bridget Pine

We appreciate all the times Scott and Bridgette have lent there time and energy for us. We feel like Scott, along with Bridgette, know us so well, and truly bless our wedding. They have a marriage that we look up to. We think that it’s important to take the advice from married people who have healthy relationships.

If you asked me who the one girl friend is who is always there to lend an ear and support to me and Mike, I would say Bridgette. When Mike had his seizure, she was there not only to lend her husband as a personal driver for Mike, but also to pray for us and see us through. She is an ice cream eating, , clothes swapping partner who really knows how to handle her self at a garage sale! :)

Bridesmaid and step sister: Jessica Shields
Jessica is my sister from another mister. She is one of the most genuine people I know, and has really taken time out to make sure I’m on the right track with this wedding. She is also responsible for producing the cutest flower girl in the world!

Bridesmaid and soon to be sister in law: Michele McCarthy
Meet my third and final sister! I see so much of myself in this girl. She is such a social butterfly and holds family dear to her heart. Full of life you will never have a dull moment with her. I can't wait to make her officially apart of my sibling clan.

Bridesmaid: Mary Fahler
I met Mary in the 9th grade when she attacked me and pinned me to the wall. She then proceeded to put mascara on me teaching me how to put on makeup. We’ve been best friends ever since. I blame her for the corruption of my innocence.

Bridesmaid: Genevieve Price
Genna and I have come so far since the 6th grade! My best memories of hanging with my partner in crime were from ruling the beach town of Ocean City, MD every summer, and the year we shared the super small locker! I figured out life with her, something I think we are still doing. With the help of her amazing parents, who opened their home to me countless times, who made me countless meals, and drove me countless places, I consider this family a part of my own.

Bridesmaid: Hope Wehrle
If it weren’t for Hope, I would never have had the guts to pursue Mike. She pushed me to do the right thing and pick the right guy, for once! The best part about having Hope as a friend is that she thinks like a guy. She knows what their next move is going to be before they do! Because of this, she gives the best "guy" advice. How can I not have my favorite party animal roommate stand up for me at our wedding?

Groomsman: Timothy Raftis Jr.
“My soon- to be- new little brother!!” He reminds me a lot of myself at his age. He is very into music and doing whatever he can to be the best that he can be. He loves to work out and play sports. He is very much like a little brother to me. I’m looking forward to watching him grow up.

Groomsman: Bruce Grimes
“The drinking Buddy” The first time I met him, I hated him. He was 25 trying to be 21. A week later we were going out every night. Here is the scenario…Bruce: “Mike you wanna go out? Mike: “No, I’m broke.” Bruce: “I’ll buy your way in!” Mike: “I’m there.” He financed my partying!!! Every Thursday night at Bar Orlando and UCF Bar B Q’s would not be the same. We went out every night that we could, and we always had a blast. "Nickelback" will always be play at Devaneys now. He is such an instigator and always up for a good time. “Fill it up again!!!”

Groomsman: Matthew Falloretta
“The roommate” Matt knows everything about me. We lived together in the fraternity house.. literally 2 feet apart, and lived in different apartments the other 3 years. Fun times for everyone! Lunch box, Tiger Woods golf, Madden 94,drinking games with Milwaukee’s Beast. Cloves, Lucy, ESPN all day everyday, “I’m the cleanest person on earth (not really)”, Darts any time, any where, and he made the best Chicken Parm, I’ve ever had. Matt has been there through everything and I know I can count on him for anything that I need.

Groomsman: Avery Ball
“Girl Relations” We definitely went through a lot of stuff together throughout college, and we both had each other’s side on everything. He always had the best advice for me. He is extremely kind hearted, and I know that he has everyone’s best interest at heart. He puts everyone else before himself and I really admire that about him.

Groomsman: Jim Parrish
“The little brotha/band mate” I’ve had so many great memories with Jim. He was my little brother in the fraternity. We were in 2 bands together and he taught me how to surf…well kind of. Trips to Tampa were great, and the 5-mile walk through Ybor City was interesting. He was definitely a little brother to me. Jim is a fantastic friend, and college would not have been the same if we had not met.
